Somewhat controversial, 1:20 1958 Dong Feng Golden Dragon by Signature

Carousel 1 American Marine Underwriters Special McLaren M16B Race Car owned by Lindsey Hopkins Racing and driven by veteran Roger McCluskey to Victory in the 1972 Ontario (Cal.) 500. The 1972 Ontario 500 was on 3 September, and McCluskey started in 8th position. Gordon Johncock was the early leader in the #24 McLaren, but he wrecked on Lap 169, and McCluskey took the 1st postion. McCluskey finished the race with a lap on 2nd place Mike Hiss, subbing for Mark Donohue.

Sincerely doubt that. In 1966 Japanese auto industry was way behind the US one, Nissan Prince was probably closer to Dong Feng Golden Dragon rather than Fairlane.

Congrats with this one, I'm anxious to get mine which should be on the way by now!

What's so controversial about it?

 

The scale is odd, 1:20. Exterior detail is quite good, but engine bay detail is quite poor made of lower quality plastic with no stickers and minimal plumbing. Also the fit and finish could be better. I've seen some 1:18 versions of Golden Dragon on eBay (the ones that come in wooden chest), but they are quite pricey.

 

I wouldn't pay more than $40USD for the Signature model.

I'm fine where I am (BIG FISH in a SMALL POND), posting in Russian is very difficult to me. At least the folks know what to expect, when they click on one of my threads. However, I completely DON'T MIND if somebody will reply to my posts in Russian.

Minichamps 2007 model of the Year. Huh? Who makes decisions like that? It's a very mediocre model with premium price tag. Nice exterior detail, but that's about it. Honestly, if it wasn't for god awful decals on many SunStar rally models, they would have been better than this Minichamps effort at less then half the price. Fiat 124 is superior no ifs or buts about it.

I don't know. Distributed by Admiral Toys. Allegedly 1 of 100 made, but no certificate. The box says produced by Virgo for Loron. This is a hadnbuilt model. Well worth $41USD I've paid for it.

Captain, honestly, I don't know. The Barnstormer had a blown 392 cid Hemi engine. It was the first dragster to crack 190 mph barrier and first to do 7 seconds quarter mile run.
